Every preseason, you see countless periodicals, newsletters and other media that attempt to tell you how to draft your Fantasy Football team. Every one of these sources is out-of-date well before the actual season begins and none discuss how the game is truly won or lost --- by careful, intense, shrewd management of your roster every week. You can win a league with a mediocre draft and by applying the methods that are discussed in this book; you cannot win a league with a great draft if you ignore proper strategy during the season. Last season, we premiered the first edition of this book, discussing every facet of a typical fantasy football season, focusing on the day-to-day, week-to-week, Game Day decisions that separate playoff teams from those that are on the outside looking in come December. With the Second Edition, each and every page is revised, all of the graphical information is updated and supplemented to better reflect the underlying theme of the text and we have added the following sections, leading to almost 50% additional content from the inaugural offering. 1) Pros and cons of being a commissioner; 2) A “lighter” approach to season-long fanaticism for those years where “real” life muscles into your priorities; 3) More detail on differing playoff structures and how to approach them; 4) Learning more from previous drafts in the same and different leagues; 5) Watching the commissioner and other rules-makers as needed; 6) Adjusting your draft strategy to when your actual draft is held; 7) Identifying and targeting the “carriers” --- the handful of players that can “carry” a solid team through the FF playoffs; and 8) Variations on a theme --- an overview of strategy in: a. Auction leagues; b. Keeper leagues; c. Scoring Only leagues; and d. IDP (“Individual Defensive Player”) leagues. With every season we are learning more and offering more --- as before, the book is targeted towards the advanced Fantasy Football player, but includes Appendices that provide the resources for a beginner to get up to speed quickly and be more than competent in his or her first league.
